Tachometer Sensor & Mount Kit - om602, om603, om606

Let’s be honest: you didn't drop a legendary Mercedes OM606 into your build just to guess your RPMs by the pitch of your turbo scream. You built a super-turbo monster! But getting that brilliant mechanical masterpiece to talk to a modern digital dash is usually a wiring nightmare that results in a lot of swearing and zero functional gauges.

Enter the BenzForce Tach Mount Kit. Born directly from a genius customer suggestion, this kit bridges the gap between old-school diesel iron and high-tech monitoring. Whether you are wiring straight into a Holley digital dash or translating signals through a Dakota Digital converter, this kit gives you a clean, laser-precise signal. No guessing. No janky custom brackets. Just pure, unadulterated RPM data.

Kit Contents:

  • Engine Fitment: Drop-in compatible with Mercedes OM606, OM603, and OM602 engine swaps.
  • Wiring & Calibration: No schematics on napkins here. Full wiring parameters and technical sensor instructions are readily available directly on the official manufacturer portal.

Installation Notes:

  • The set screw used to secure the sensor does not screw in far.  They nylon tip will compress enough to secure the sensor so do not over tighten.  If you feel that you do not have enough engagement with the threads you can shave some of the nylon tip but even a couple threads on the set screw should be ample clamping force
  • Verify the need for a pull up resistor based on your setup and the installation instructions.  An external pull-up resistor is not included (if needed).
  • Typical air gap of is 1.5 mm.  It is suggested to rotate the engine until the timing tab can be seen through the sensor hole.  Use calipers to measure the distance from the block to the timing tab, subtract 1.5mm, then install the sensor in the mount with the same distance from the bottom of the mount to the end of the sensor.  Verify the sensor is not hitting the timing tabs before starting the engine by hand rotating the engine.  Make sure the set screw is snug and if there is ample room to fit the jam nut on the threads, do so.
