Refresh the bottom end of your Mercedes OM606 with the essential wear components, timing components, bearings, gaskets and seals needed for a proper short-block rebuild.

The BenzForce OM606 Short Block Refresh Kit is designed for engines being rebuilt using serviceable factory pistons and connecting rods. Rather than sourcing individual components from multiple suppliers, this package brings together the commonly replaced parts needed when refreshing an OM606 short block.

Ideal for stock rebuilds, engine swaps, preventative overhauls and performance builds retaining the factory rotating assembly.

Vacuum Pump Gasket Options

OM606 Turbo

Typically used with the turbo-style OM606 vacuum pump. If your vacuum pump uses two metal retaining tabs that hook over the front of the pump, it will generally use this gasket.  The turbo gaskets typically have metal tabs that go over the top of the pump,  Please see the photo.

OM603 / OM606 NA

For engines using the alternate OM603/OM606 naturally aspirated-style vacuum pump arrangement.

Verify the vacuum-pump configuration on your engine before ordering.

Important — Check Your Thermostat Before Ordering

The included thermostat O-ring (601-203-00-76) is only compatible with the grooved thermostat style.

OM606 engines may have different thermostat configurations. Check the thermostat currently installed in your engine before ordering. If your thermostat does not have the groove for this O-ring, this seal will not fit.

Designed for OEM Piston Reuse

Pistons are not included. This kit is designed around reuse of serviceable factory OM606 pistons and connecting rods.

Factory pistons, cylinder bores, crankshaft journals and connecting rods should be professionally inspected and measured before assembly. Machining or additional components may be required depending on engine condition.

Do not forget to gap the rings accordingly.  The service manual(s) can be found under the resources menu.
