The BenzForce OM606 Performance Short Block Kit combines premium rings and bearings, commonly replaced lower-engine gaskets and seals, and your choice of H-Beam or X-Beam forged connecting rods in one comprehensive package.
Designed for performance engine builds using serviceable factory OM606 pistons or customer-supplied aftermarket pistons, the kit provides a straightforward foundation for rebuilding and strengthening the OM606 bottom end without requiring customers to source individual components from multiple suppliers.

H-Beam Rod Option
The H-Beam option is designed for street and high-performance OM606 builds where strength, reliability and value are the priorities. These forged 4340 steel rods provide a substantial upgrade over the factory connecting rods and are recommended for builds targeting up to 600 engine HP.
X-Beam Rod Option
For higher-output and competition-oriented builds, select the X-Beam option. These forged 4340 steel rods feature genuine ARP 8740 7/16" rod bolts and are intended for 600+ HP, high-boost and competition applications.
Pistons Not Included
Pistons are not included with this package. This kit is designed for use with serviceable factory OM606 pistons or customer-supplied aftermarket pistons.
The horsepower ratings shown for the H-Beam and X-Beam connecting rods apply to the connecting rods only and should not be interpreted as horsepower ratings for factory OM606 pistons or the completed engine assembly.
Customers pursuing higher-power builds should select pistons and other engine components appropriate for their intended power level and use.
Factory pistons, cylinder bores and crankshaft journals should be professionally inspected and measured before assembly. Machining or additional components may be required depending on engine condition.
Vacuum Pump Gasket Options
OM606 Turbo
Typically used with the turbo-style OM606 vacuum pump. If your vacuum pump uses two metal retaining tabs that hook over the front of the pump, it will generally use this gasket. Please see the product photo for reference.
OM603 / OM606 NA
For engines using the alternate OM603/OM606 naturally aspirated-style vacuum pump arrangement.
Verify the vacuum pump configuration on your engine before ordering.
Important – Check Your Thermostat Before Ordering
The included thermostat O-ring (601-203-00-76) is only compatible with the grooved thermostat style.
OM606 engines may have different thermostat configurations. Check the thermostat currently installed in your engine before ordering. If your thermostat does not have the groove for this O-ring, this seal will not fit.
